Abstrakt
Le problème du rapport du verbe au temps n'est pas vraiment posé avant la seconde moitié du dix-huitième siècle. Après avoir passé en revue les différentes approches qui existaient à la fin du dix-septième, notamment celle de Port-Royal, l'auteur examine l'apport déterniinant de James Harris, (1751), James Beàttie (1783) et James Pickboum (1789) dans l'analyse de la représentation du temps et de son expression. '
