Abstrakt
Courant's trip to Germany in the summer of 1947 was financed by the Office of Naval Research. His assignment was to visit a number of universities and technical schools and to determine the extent of German progress during the war in the development of computing machines. In his new importance he was able to convince the ONR that he needed someone to assist him. It was arranged that Natascha Artin would accompany him on the trip.
