Quine's indispensability argument, the fount of the most important contemporary arguments in support of Platonism, is expounded and its four central theses explored. A taxonomy of anti-Platonist responses, both realist and anti-realist, to generic indispensability arguments is provided. Arealism is ruled out as a theistic response.
