Jesús Padilla Gálvez

Born 1959, Jesús Padilla Gálvez is a Spanish philosopher who has been working on the relation between analytic philosophy and phenomenology. In an early research phase he concentrated on modal logic and the semantic perspective. Then he investigated problems associated with truth and proof. Two of his special interests are the view of phenomenology as grammar and the relationship between intentionality and action. Another line of investigation is the interrelation between language games and forms of life. In this context Padilla Gálvez has focused on the comprehension (Verstehen) of social actions as phenomena. His investigations are profoundly influenced by the philosophy of the German Idealism, Husserl and Wittgenstein.
