Substance and emptiness

preparatory steps toward a translational dialogue between western and buddhist philosophy

Paola-Ludovika CoriandoVirginia Jennings Colombo

pp. 135-143

Abstrakt

This paper explores the possibility of a "translational" dialogue between Eastern thinking and the Western tradition. The discussion outlines the path of translation between the key terms of Eastern and Western traditions, in order to retrieve their meanings from a deeper origin, which enriches each tradition. In the process, it is shown how the reciprocal dialogue of this translation forms the cornerstone of tradition, preserving it within the "other beginning."
